The writing is coming along a bit slow today.

Early last week I had finished the first issue of "Worm in the Blossom" and had handed it over to Mihailo a little too enthusiastic. A few days later he called me back to tell me that it wasn't really quite what he was expecting.

Which is, actually, to be expected.

This guy has been forming this story in his mind and through sketches for almost five years. He is closer friends with these characters that he has created than he is with me, whom he has only known since December. My only request has been that he will allow me to do all the rough drafts for the project.

So with this all clear, I should have know that this is how it would have turned out. Its exactly how I had imagined it would. I think that I got a little two excited with the first issue though and started to invest a lot of thought into it. I started imagining how great it would be to be a writer of comics and how much fun the medium was in order to express things that were not so clearly expressed in other purely text-based genres. I forgot that I am, in fact, very, very new to all of this. But then Mihailo got an email from Marvel asking him what comics he would like to illustrate for them, then he and I went to the comic book store out in the century mall, and we talked everything over.

So now I am here, at the coffee shop. Trying to use a lightning fast flash blog post to get my fingers juiced. I am sure that I will write this one and then he will tear it apart and I will try again. This is what has to happen, and hopefully by the third of the eighteen issues, I will be able to produce something that does his vision justice while still creating something completely new and beautiful myself.
